Each year that I worked there, Renfro Library held a catered celebration to honor the scholarly publications and creative achievements of faculty and staff.
I created the visual identity for the event and tried each year to honor its design principles while tweaking the layout in subtle new directions.
Though keeping it varied kept me interested, the real impetus for this design flux was the ever-changing number of honorees and the lengths of their citations. The final design reflects the event moving online in 2020 as so many things did.
Fun note about the 2016 and 2017 posters: The university had a beloved biology professor who was camera-shy to the point of refusing official portraiture, so as a running joke, each year he was among the honorees, I portrayed him as one of the animal subjects of his research.
