A visual timeline of the history of music, told through its physical media from 1877 to the present.
This was part of my exhibition “The Art of Noise,” which was on display in Renfro Library at Mars Hill University, NC, for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years.
The columnar timeline occupied an entire interior wall, flowing around doorways and lights as dictated by the space. Shown here are photos covering the first two-thirds of the timeline, up to the 1970s. The decades from the 1980s through 2010s were also represented in the physical exhibition.
